How
many of you have ever taken an antibiotic?
When
one takes an Antibiotic, it causes an imbalance within the digestive
flora (healthy bacteria) that naturally occurs in your Intestinal
System. What results from this imbalance is the body now tries to
function without the vital component of bacteria that is necessary
for the normal digestion and assimilation of your food material. This
of course will lead to improper digestion. Lets face it. If you can't
digest your food properly, you can't expect your body to be healthy.
This is similar to your car not running properly if your gas filter
is clogged. Along the same lines, a person can put the highest
quality food in their body, but if the filters for absorbing the
vital nutrients are dirty, clogged or aren't functioning properly,
the same issue will occur. The body will malfunction and have poor
health. Another possibility is a person could have clean filters yet
eat poor quality food; they too will develop health issues. It all
comes back to digesting, absorbing and assimilating the proper
ingredients in a balanced, healthy fashion. Without this, you will
develop health problems from deficiencies in nutrition and lead a
miserable existence. And if you don't know this to be true yet, ask
someone with health problems and see what you learn. You'll find them
to be miserable. But this misery is not necessary.
To
fully appreciate this, health of your physical body stems from two
components. First you need to eat high quality foods with all the
natural components created from natural sources. Not the man-made,
highly refined and "Enriched"
artificial foods most consume in today's society.(To review this
information go to www.spineboy.com/newsletter
and read the back issue "What's
in Your
Supplement")
Second, you'll need to have properly functioning digestion and
elimination systems. Without the first part, you'll lack the
necessary building blocks for good, strong and healthy function. And
without the second part, you can't expect the body to be able to
process those vital ingredients and give you the health they would
naturally create. It is because of the second part of this equation
(properly functioning digestion and elimination), and the health
imbalances that are so pervasive in our country, which I want to
teach you about your assimilation and elimination systems.
To
assimilate your food in a proper way, it requires the full breakdown
within the digestive tract and then the absorption of those food
particles into the bloodstream. As mentioned, if this part of the
assimilation doesn't occur, the rest of the system is irrelevant.
Having discussed the condition of Dysbiosis,
or lack of balanced digestive flora, in a past issue entitled, "Sugar
and Your Immune System,"
please
refer to that previous issue available through my website,
www.spineboy.com/newsletter
for this information. If Dysbiosis occurs, resulting in incomplete
breakdown of your proteins, the absorption of those improperly
digested proteins will cause the Immune System to attack them which
leads to food
allergies.
The resultant toxins associated with the Immune response generated
then head to the Liver for final breakdown.
What
This Means To You
The
Liver
is the second most important organ in the body, after the Kidneys.
The Liver is responsible for determining what the body needs and what
the body should eliminate. It's like the head foreman on a job. It
oversees all the flow within the body and makes sure all gets
processed appropriately and in a timely fashion. If the body is
constantly taking in toxins through the Digestive System, whether
they are from processed food, too many medications or alcohol, or the
incomplete breakdown as a result of the Dysbiosis
mentioned above, the Liver will begin to get overwhelmed and the body
will now begin to develop health problems. Conditions like
Arthritis, Vision Problems, Headaches, Elevated Cholesterol,
Inflammatory Conditions, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia,
and others. It is because of these conditions, and the importance of
the Liver in completing the millions of functions it does every day,
that it becomes vital for you to have a clean and properly
functioning Liver.
The
Kidneys,
the most important organ in the body, helps to regulate fluid and
electrolyte balance. This is necessary for proper completion of
normal metabolic pathways and vital for normal Blood Pressure. Making
sure you keep your Kidney's properly flushed by consuming balanced
amounts of water throughout the day is vital to keep the Kidneys free
of toxins. One quart of water for every 50 lbs. every day is
recommended to keep the Kidney's clean. If this organ gets overrun
with toxins and/or doesn't have enough of the proper ingredients for
balanced function, conditions of
High Blood Pressure, Heart Palpitations, Dehydration, Low Back Pain
and Fluid Retention/Swelling
can develop. These are reasons why it is important to keep the
Kidneys clean and functioning properly.
Already
mentioned in passing when discussing the condition of Dysbiosis,
the Large
Intestine
is important when eliminating the toxins from the body. Since the
Kidneys help with the fluid toxins, the Large Intestine handles the
solid ones. If Dysbiosis
exists within the Intestinal System, the body will have a hard time
eliminating its solid wastes properly. Conditions such as
Constipation, Diarrhea, Irritable Bowel, Diverticulitis, Colitis,
Sciatica and Low Back Pain
can all occur as a result. And if the Large Intestine is out of
balance, as mentioned previously, the body can begin absorbing toxins
into the bloodstream that then go to the Liver. This is why it's
vital to make sure the Large Intestine part of your elimination
system is balanced and properly functioning.
The
next organ that helps the body eliminate toxins and is vital for
normal health and function are the Lungs.
The Lungs help to process all the air that we breathe, and acts to
filter out the toxins and pollutants within the air. Living in a
major metropolitan area where we breathe in pollution on a daily
basis, or even considering the outgasing that occurs from new
construction and carpeting, we are all constantly exposed to toxins
in the air that we breathe. Getting away from these by taking hikes
out in the woods on a regular basis is a good start for helping to
eliminate these toxins. But even this may not be enough. Lung
Conditions such as Asthma,
Upper Respiratory Infections, Ear Infections, Tonsillitis, Pneumonia,
or Bronchitis
are all related to the improper elimination of the toxins we breathe.
Taking the time to regularly get outside and deeply breathing in
fresh air is vital for your health. Fully breathing into your belly
helps to accomplish this, as most people breathe improperly by
breathing through their chest instead. This is something else to
consider when improving the functioning of your Respiratory System.
And again, keeping your Lungs clean and highly functioning is vital
for your health.
Last,
but certainly not least, the
largest organ of the body
and one that is involved in your body's elimination system is the
Skin.
The Skin is something we all take for granted unless you already have
a problem with yours. Normal sweating and exposing your Skin to
sunlight helps to process toxins out of the Skin. If the Skin has
problems eliminating toxins, you can be sure the other four organs
are already overrun with toxins themselves. This is because the Skin
is the body's last priority. In other words, the body has other
organs/glands that are needed to function in a balanced way more so
then the skin. It is designed to protect us, helps to produce vitamin
D, and it breathes just like the Lungs do. Conditions such as
Psoriasis,
Eczema, Dandruff, Rosacea, and Hives
etc. are all an indication that the Skin is overwhelmed with
eliminating toxins. This is because the other four organs involved in
eliminating wastes are usually out of balance already. Making sure
your Skin is healthy is an indication of how the rest of your
elimination systems are functioning. If the skin is off, the others
are definitely off too.
